01 / Flower Armchair
The shape of a gesture.
The 10 mm iron frame, spray-painted black, holds fabric strips approximately 5 cm wide. The fabric, normally used for flags, is water-resistant.
The strips are freely woven and tensioned by hand until they fill the open surfaces of the frame. A flower emerges: a form that develops through the making process.

Weave. Tension. Repeat.
Anacleto Spazzapan developed this technique through repeated experiments. Tensioning the strips takes experience: a manual process that, as the maker explains, does not lend itself to industrial series production.
Over time
Over time, worn strips can be replaced with relative ease. Get in touch to learn more about caring for this piece.
